Those complaining about the animation are missing the point. Damon decided to write a song with just 2D, he wrote it on Monday and made this video on Wednesday. It's a fan service for those who said they wanted "more 2D" on Humanz. There is a proper music video for a Humanz single currently in the works. We should all be happy to have a new song to enjoy, Damon didn't have to write it at all, but he did.

Did not know that Damon did this in like...just a few days, that is amazing! I'd also like to remind people that while the regular animated music videos are awesome, they also take a LOT of work and a LOT of money. Motion capture may not be as perfect as people seem to want, but we're getting a lot of content with 2D and Murdoc, and it's been hilarious and fun. And apparently it gives you stuff like this in just a few days... Just enjoy what the band's giving you. :)

According to damon, the video was made in one day, and the song was written in one day, too. It is a response to "not enough 2D hurr". It's like "oh, you want 2D? There's a reason: It's made with motion capture, to illustrate the speedy turnaround of this music video. He felt unrepresented in Gorillaz so he made this song alone in private, without anyone else knowing, hence why it looks so bad.
