Yeah, my reading of it is that, unlike Russel who noticeably was upset in The Now Now that Murdoc wasn't there, and unlike 2D who was (and still is) experiencing Stockholm syndrome, Noodle sees clearly ; she even berates him in Japanese in one of the Gorillaz Bitez, saying how untrustworthy he is. I think she's maybe noticed 2D behaving a little "different" since Murdoc's return, and she's concerned about his influence (on 2D, and the band) coming back. And now if Murdoc is going to the lengths of drugging 2D to keep him on a high around himself, well... yeah, cause to worry. I mean - turns out it's justified, as we find out in "Cracker Island". Technically, he was drvgging 2D with a Truth Serum because he wants to know how to operate the Song Machine and is I think the only one in the band that can't do so, um, but you're definitely right. No matter what Murdoc says, 2D is the heart and soul of Gorillaz. They’re all important, but without 2D, there would really be nothing to talk about. Murdoc’s the bassist-pretty much everyone ignores the bassist. Russel’s the drummer-a role in a band which isn’t really necessary with the advent of drum machines. Noodle’s the guitarist-2D actually has the ability to play guitar as demonstrated on the cover of *The Now-Now*. Yes, they all have important roles, but without 2D’s iconic and easily identifiable vocals, no one would really see the band as Gorillaz. And maybe that’s the point as to why Murdoc always wants it to be “his band”. He knows it will never be, because the front man is almost completely everything, no matter what. Again, not saying Noodle, Russel, and Murdoc (also Ace to an extent) aren’t important, but 2D is *the heart and soul* of Gorillaz. Just as much as I’m saying you need Damon Albarn in Blur, but you also need Graham Coxon, Alex James, and Dave Rowntree. But if Damon were to use a drum machine and the help of GarageBand (or something similar), no one would know any different. But replacing 2D or Damon Albarn would be a cardinal sin. And that, my friends, is why you should always respect the frontman.

Gorillaz came to be because he made a deal with the devil to which he faced said devils in the Rhinestone Eyes storyboard that never made to an animated music video (up until a fan did that by himself for a few years). Before that, he's been treating 2-D like crud, his fellow vocalist and 2-D's ex-girlfriend Paula cheated on him with Murdoc, 2-D's has been the punching bag of Murdoc their entire career. It's amazing 2-D didn't lose his talented voice for that prolonged abusive period. Murdoc is a good writer and bassist, and has seen himself as the foreman of the crew. But he tends to get his band in troubles they didn't need to be in. Then he got arrested after the Humanz album dropped. For some time the band members had to go on without him, and they had Ace from the Gangreen Gang replacing him for a time with their Now Now album. Now he comes back after breaking out of jail, and Noodle was peeved off at him, especially when she was going to find this person El Mierda who "supposedly" framed him at his request, only to find out he was arrested for not paying his parking fines. Noodles suspected Murdoc was doing this to get attention to himself and away from 2-D. That's why she is worried for 2-D. And this video she was contacting Russel to know what happened to the two while they were racing. I'm worried for 2-D just as Noodles is. The guy is trying to break away from his drug habits when he got into them due to the stuff he puts up with in his life. And Murdoc puts him right back into it. He's trying to keep 2-D from standing on his own.
