There's so many little details I'm absolutely in love with here: -The fact that Noodle was like "We gotta infiltrate a cult, which will require a disguise, time to wear booty shorts and a crop top" and that Murdoc was like "Ah yes, I can wear my old cult uniform". The fact that they're both completely right is astonishing. -When the crew are sneaking up on the cultists all three of them waltz up like absolute gremlins, the absolute most conspicuous they can be -That neither Murdoc or Spoon Lady can pull 2-D back up, which implies that the cultist who was lowering him before had just inhuman strength. -2-D is wearing a shirt that, as far as I can tell, says "I am the lamb" probably in reference to him being sacrificed here. Which means he either planned to be captured by the cult, or that they put him in the shirt beforehand, both of which are hilarious -The fact that Murdoc runs as soon as the cops show up

If you dig a bit deeper, it also gets darker, and in this case the shirt reference is about how music artist today are "sacrificed" to unwillingly become a dark "envoyer" with subliminal and symbolic messages via lyrics or MV. This is also tied directly to the title of the song "Silent running" as a lot of artist today dont have a choice and just comply but deep inside they are desperately running away.

-murdoc and spoon lady can’t pull 2D back up: she *was* slowly pulling him back up. might just be a smidge weaker than the other guy, it’s harder to pull someone up than lower them down, or they just made it take longer to make it make sense. Plus, Murdoc only dropped him because the unexpected weight from her letting go put extra pressure on murdoc so he fell forward. Like playing tug of war then letting go, the person you’re playing against will most likely fall backwards regardless of how strong they are.

Noodle was such a formative character for me. It's so weird to see an animated character I had a crush on when I was 10 years old grow up alongside me. Crazy stuff. She looks better than ever. Started out flip kicking zombie monkeys and now she's kicking cultists in the face. Love ya, Noodle 💜.

They are timeless bc they are virtual. Damon had the vision when it first started; an ever-revolving door of amazing artists to fulfill the role of each character. It has evolved much further but man, what an idea and I am looking forward to new Gorillaz music up until the day that I die. Hell, I was a Damon fan, already, from his time with blur. The first album blew me away and they've been the soundtrack for my life

I find it criminal that Gorillaz has never gotten a T.V. series or at least a movie, but I love the story telling they manage to tell with what they are able to put out. @@lukefr.987 As much as I do love David Bowie AND absolutely love “Silent Running”, I honestly have to say that I cannot see how you think this song sounds like The Thin White Duke in any respect. It’s certainly an ‘80s New Wave song and it’s my favorite of all time for that reason, however, it’s certainly NOT Bowie. All that said, however, there definitely IS a song on Cracker Island that DOES sound like a David Bowie collab, so much that I would call it a “virtual collab”, since Bowie died years ago and thus literally CANNOT collab on a Gorillaz track. The song in question has Damon Alparn beautifully recreating the vocal range of The Thin White Duke so extremely well that one would assume that it IS a collab if they weren’t already aware of Bowie’s passing years ago just days after releasing his final album Blackstar. That song is “Baby Queen”. Pay extra close attention to the chorus and when the line “my Baby Queen” hits, you will most CERTAINLY hear the rich baritone of Bowie from the Thin White Duke era along with his unique vocal cracks towards the end of the song, momentarily hitting the falsetto of Ziggy Stardust while still maintaining the power of Thin White Duke before then instantly shifting back into typical Damon Alparn as 2-D resumes his own vocals. It’s so convincing that one could easily forget that “Baby Queen” ISN’T a collab, yet it still very much IS a pure Gorillaz original. That song is a VERY fitting tribute to one of the greatest legends in music history and I would say that if the Blackstar was still alive today, he would’ve definitely collabed on it…yet, as it stands, I’m fairly certain that he’s looking down from somewhere out in space smiling and giving a solid thumbs-up to the solo tribute that IS “Baby Queen”…☺️🥰❤️👍🏻

Gorillaz has been my favorite band since I was 5 years old. I was born 1995 and I remember when my brother bought their first album back in 2001. Growing up people would think I was weird when I would tell them Gorillaz was my favorite band and show them songs like double bass and left hand suzuki method. Now Gorillaz has become a household name and I am so happy. Welcome to the party everyone. 😁

Wish I had a turntable so I could get one too...😢 Unfortunately I don't, so it's strictly streaming for me...ngl, I'm IN LOVE with this album so at least I can enjoy the music whenever... however, I will admit that it isn't quite the same as having a physical copy to show just how much I love this album AND Gorillaz as a band in general. First time I heard gorillaz it was like I was pulled from a lower level of consciousness. Kids with guns on the music channel in 2005 or so. Since then, I have searched them out, spent years of my life learning lyrics and watching videos and they never cease to blow me away. I bleed Gorillaz and they will forever be at the top of my list for quality music with contrast in each shift they make during their years of creation
