"By hand" is still relative. I guess they didn't draw it with a pencil on paper and scan it in. They highly probably just got software that emulates a skeleton and put the cartoon character images on the positions of the "bones" of this skeleton.

They likely used references, most artists do, you're thinking of tracing, which is a very different thing.

Here or there, it makes me not care that I'm "crazy" and "need help" because I can feel and appreciate this, and love it, and other people are literally incapable of reaching the heights of feeling or insight at times I can being how I am. I really needed this song today. I know me though. For every high, there is a low, and I have to be VERY careful, being this high, knowing the fall is coming.
