this song matches my sadness knowing that the movie was cancelled, gorillaz always being perfect

I remember coming across Gorillaz and finding out that they hadn't made music in years when I got really deep in love with the band and the lore (I was in about 6th grade) and I remember being so heartbroken thinking they'd never put anything else out and here I am now in college waking up and listening to this- I've been lucky to go to their concert twice and I'm so grateful they're still making music today and it's always amazing. I made so many friends through Gorillaz and I've gotten through a lot of hard times with Gorillaz. I know it's just a band but Gorillaz means so much to me and I'm sure many others.

This song feels like waking up inside a melancholic dream of things that were supposed to happen but didn’t. Beautiful.

In 2022, I had a sarcoma in my knee. Went through 9 months of chemo and a huge surgery. During my time in the hospital, I made friends with a girl about my age with a similar case to me. When I finished treatment, she was still in the hospital. I visited her often and I told her that as soon as she finished her treatment, we would do something fun together out of the hospital. Unfortunately, I learned that she recently passed. I discovered this song around the time of her funeral and I can’t stop thinking about her whenever I hear it. Wherever you are, I hope you’re in a better place and we will be together till the end.

This song is fucking beautiful holy shit definitely my favorite off the album and is a top 10 Gorillaz song for me.

All these years later and still Gorillaz puts out great music. With every knew album I hope Damon has a slower more melancholic song and he almost always delivers. Simply beautiful.
