Fun fact: According to the lore of the book Rise of the Ogre, the choppy distorted cry you hear at the beginning is Murdoc's pet raven Cortez Guy just randomly flew into the studio while they were recording and began caw-cawing right into the mic and they liked the samples so much they decided to add it to the song, and also they thought it was quite poetic

The macabre and hopeless aspect of a lot of Demon Days's songs is what makes them so amazing. This is one of the best Gorillaz songs. Period.

I first heard Gorillaz from Feel Good Inc. on the radio back when I was 6 years old. I grew up in the south and typically heard country or oldies so Gorillaz was a breath of fresh air. I loved the song so much my Mom noticed right away. She went out and bought me this album on CD back when CDs were still a big deal. I attribute a great deal of the music I listen to today to Gorillaz. At such a young age they opened me up to what music can be, it doesn't have to be cliche pop lines, or cookie cutter instrumentals. Can't imagine a life without music. Thanks for noticing, Mom, you're the best. Tldr; My Mom and Gorillaz are dope as shit.

You guys should hear about this band Gorillaz that is basically this but more electronic; trust me, if you like this song by Blur in particular, you'l love Gorillaz! I'd suggest checking out the Gorillaz tune 'O Green World'; it's similar but so much better!

I'm not a super fan but I'm re listening to the album's and this one still stand the "test of time". makes me realize how shallow/hollow commercial music has become in the 11 years since this came out. can't wait for the new album next year.

I used to absolutely hates this song, seriously.. But as I keep hearing it I guess it grew on me, I instantly fall in love with this song. I dont know but something in this song is so good, the strange noises, mood, Murdoc's raven, the bass, backing vocals? Its just stuck in my head. This is now my favorite song in the Demon Days album, catchy and underrated. Hope it gets its love like the other popular songs.

This has been my favourite song for over two years now, I can't describe why I like it so much though. It seems to just pop into my head everyday. It's pretty underrated, but lots of people know of it, but don't like it as much as I do.

I think one of the things I love most about this song is of course, how it sounds so strange yet so good, as well as the fact that the song feels like some sort of anthem when the vocals come in.

My all time favorite song from Gorillaz. I don't know what it is, but it sounds like a new genre mixed with these weird instruments that fit so perfectly and Damon's voice is so fitting as well. I remember hearing this a lot in my Childhood and when I finally found this song years later, I got addicted. I listened to this song for days and never got bored of it. I think this is one of my favorite Gorillaz songs now. When the album first came out and I listened to this song, it confused me so much. The depth of this track was just too much for my 13 year old brain. The juxtaposition of sounds to create the mood of this song is really brilliant. It's brash, dirty, ugly, sad, beautiful and inspirational.

I was introduced to this band by my then bf, we're now engaged and we've went to one of their concerts with my mother and was her first glimpse on the crazy world of Gorillaz. This being one of her favorite songs.

I always thought this was one of Demon Day's hidden gems, since it's so often overshadowed by El Mañana and Feel Good Inc. It just carries such an energetic vibe, like Damon Albarn enjoyed doing it most of all.

POV: You went into an alternate reality to escape the snail but since you broke the rules it transformed into a slow lumbering fluffy cat that plays jazz music that gets more sinister as it approaches.

I love how Cortez is in this song, it’s such a cool detail
