One of the things I love about Gorillaz is how dynamic they are. They never stick to the same old thing over and over again; they'er always changing things up yet they still maintain a unique sound. Perhaps thats one of the reasons why they've lasted for so long.

Fuck yeah, I remember when innerspeaker came out when I was in high school. I remember all Tame Impala and Gorillaz album releases, I loved all of them. These two bands are the only two bands where I enjoy most of their albums all the way through. Especially innerspeaker that shit is still so good. I always loved the drums, and effects!

Just had a thought on how this ties in with the cracker island lore. 2-D mentions that “the truth was auto tuned” and that hey “grew a made up paradise.” What if this song goes more in depth with that, saying that 2-D was presented a “New Gold” that was this made up paradise and how he was completely fooled by it all, only to play some part in Murdoc’s cult and for his made up paradise to fall apart and sees the cracks in what’s going on?
