I just love the chorus so much. "Fairy-like companions, into the darkness that catapults is into imagined worlds. Seems a mockery remote." The way the lyrics are delivered, the rise and fall of notes, the cadence of that section, the playful wonder of the lyrics.
@Notius Жыл бұрын
Fairy light companions To the dark maths that catapult Us into imagined worlds Seems a mockery remote Fairies can also be known as sprites, sprites can also be defined as a 2d arrangement of pixels... kind of like a screen. The dark maths could be the 0s and 1s that computers and the internet use to communicate. Imagined worlds... different websites/chats/games. The song seems to be about a past relationship and the Narrator (2d) has lost himself in the internet. At least he feels like he's found purpose in it, ie. the outro: Don't think that my heart Is a sad affair without you Individual actions Change the world (Fill them up with love)

"Oil" by Gorillaz featuring Stevie Nicks is a song about being lost and searching for love and companionship in an increasingly impersonal and technological world. The lyrics describe a sense of disconnection and disillusionment with reality, as the world is described as being "made of faulty dreams". The narrator is looking for someone or something to lift them out of their feelings of loneliness and despair. The line "Fly out of the doldrums and recall the log from the early database of your love" suggests that the narrator is looking to reconnect with a past love, or perhaps find a new love who he can connect with emotionally. The fairy light companions and dark maths represent the confusing and often contradictory nature of human relationships in a world where technology and social media can create false perceptions and questionable expectations. The chorus talks about the need to fill up the world with love and reject the poison of negativity and hate. The narrator acknowledges that he is not immune to feeling lost and alone, but ultimately believes that individual actions can make a positive impact if they come from a place of love and empathy. The final line of the song - "Fill them up with love" - serves as a reminder and call to action for listeners to create a world of love and connection despite the challenges of modern life. /songtell

It was brilliant having Stevie track the harmony on the 2nd half. It wasn't too much and it was perfect. It would be difficult for me to ask such a titan as Stevie to play such a small part, but when that happens, you know you're in the midst of excellent musicians. It was perfect! At least it was for me. If you really love this like I do, get Moises and set the software to reprocess this in 6 parts then play them at different times and truly listen to the song. Hearing Stevie and the group on their own drove me insane! Beautiful.
