I unexpectedly got deep into Gorillaz today (never actually stopped and gave them a listen before ) and I’m so glad I did. I’ve had ‘ New Gold’ and ‘Cracker Island’ on repeat since they released. I’ve gone through quite a few of their songs , I really enjoyed most of them , their sound is definitely my thing. I really love all the characters (couldn’t just choose one haha). Gorillaz , you have yourselves another (new) fan ❤️

If, like me, you're wondering what the actual lyrics are @1:35, I've checked the receipts. I've watched the live performances. I've cross-referenced sources. I've actually obsessed over it. Nothing posted online is correct. Here's what I believe the lyrics actually are, in the album version: Lord save me Cause all I've sung I got it down and wrong I seen myself to get The l'all-seeing road down But can you take us in I bought the car made up The coldest man Who doesn't say it's wrong These are not quite the same lyrics that Damon Albarn typically uses in live performances. For example, "The l'all-seeing road" becomes "On the long, all-seeing road." It seems he's intentionally slurring his words as a stylistic storytelling choice, and Noodle is the credited songwriter on this track. Only in live versions is it clear he's saying "coldest" because that genuinely doesn't sound like any discernible word. The ambiguity sets the stage subconsciously for the story to play out. The ghostly melodies amplify that feeling of descending into madness that the characters are struggling with throughout Demon Days. This is one of Gorillaz's finest songs if you ask me. Uniquely Gorillaz, embodying the essence of the band.

this playlist will always have a place in my heart. I've been listening to Gorrilaz since early 2000's they'll never get too old.

This album brings me back. It's one of those albums you never get tired of. But it was an experience then. There's something about hearing a masterpiece of an album (you don't quite know it then) for the first time. This album is still so amazing and I love revisiting it. Coming back to them gives you new perspective, especially depending how long you waited.

The bridge of this song makes me cry every time. I don't know why, it just makes me so emotional and I feel that everyone needs to know this song, but not everyone knows this song, so I cry.
