I spent like 10-12 years of my life trying to find this song. I'm from Spain so my mother language isn't english, which makes things worse. My uncle used to download games for me when I was a kid, and one of those was FIFA 02 (I was only 4 back then 😭). I vividly remember playing it, andsomehow this song got stuck in my head, but like in a very dark corner. Years later I heard it in a local party, I didn't know why I recognized the melody so I tried to find it with Shazham, but there was so much noise it couldn't catch it. I swear I spent like 4 months listening to so many electronic music my mind was starting to be done. And finally, I was able to find it, I think it was thanks to a football compilation video 😂

I prefer this over the original, to be honest.

I wish there were more remixes like this that actually shifted stuff around, making an entirely new song. These days most remixes just slap some dubstep over a song and call it a day.

As a kid I thought to myself, "This song is too good be from this decade. No need to remember it, I am sure I will hear it everywhere for the rest of my life" and continued my life forgetting it's existence.Years later I heard this by chance and searched for the "original" expecting this to be based off some song from the 60s-80s. I was shocked to find this is from 2001. The closest thing I found was that the drumbeat is sampled, but the rest is all original.

I think this version was more popular. I remember hearing it a lot on TV and such, but when I got the album, I found out that it was actually a remix.

Used to play Fifa with my dad, didn't even speak English back then but I recognized the song as soon as I heard it in a stream +20 years later.

I love the way noodle sings and the way they animated the way she sings. It makes her sound so joyful and fun. Like how I used to be as a kid. Just not a car in the world. Both versions just give me motivation and happiness.

Was 21 when this came out..myself and the younger brother driving to work together and having a shitty time of it.. Guaranteed that this would play on the way home (god bless Jo Whiley) and we wouldd bounce around and sing out like we had no worries in the world.. Even after all this time and distance between us, when this plays we are suddenly a couple of young blokes again..

Almost 22 years after encountering this song for the first time in FIFA 2002, I am so glad I finally figured out the title and the artist. It feels funny because I have been a blur fan since 2003 with their CDs in my house, but never realized that this song is by Albarn from the same band because I never paid attention to the band members' individual projects.

14 years later, this is still my song of the summer.

Pretty sure this was the first album I ever bought. Absolutely loved and still love gorillaz. As much as people say other decades were better for music, it’s songs like this that make me think music from my generation was actually pretty amazing.

It only goes up hill from here! Can't wait for all th new art and music.

This is so much better than the video version, it's like the video version was an unfinished demo or the wrong track somebody sent by mistake and this is the real song.

Always a feel-good track, this one. Hadn't thought of it in donkey's years, but then ProtonJon recommended it in the latest episode of his Jet Set Radio Future LP. Also, never knew this was the remix version. I always thought it was the original.
