I remember when Gorillaz was formed after the Blur-Oasis days. Incredibly difficult to pull off a complete new concept in music and be successful with it. I remember seeing Gorillaz on MTV when they were new, for a while no one knew it was Albarn, and to have a cartoon front with CGI additions was such a big risk and a bold move it blew my young mind. Oasis may have won the brit rock times, but Damen had the last laugh when he took music in a direction no one thought possible. Genius.

I remember when I was in middle school when I first heard Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz and fell in loved with it. Walked 7 miles to the nearest store that had it, bought it and the lady at the counter asked for my age since it had a Parental Advisory label on it. I lied and said 18. I will always cherish that album close to my heart and the countless memories it created for me.
