I remember people were so conflicted about the new animation style when these first dropped. Glad people can respect them now for how amazing they are. Plastic Beach was and still is a goldmine.

I consider this to be the Super Smash Bros Brawl of Gorillaz's music videos. It's presented in a more realistic way with CGI, but many still prefer the artistic 2D animated style before. Still cool for Gorillaz trying new mediums of animation.

I admit yeah, Plastic Beach grew on me. But I really miss the Kong Studios site and forums. Both of which were removed with Plastic Beach. There was a Plastic Beach interactive site sure, nowhere near as good.

If you're wondering, Murdoc was right about California bylaw 22515. It states: "No person driving, or in control of, or in charge of, a motor vehicle shall permit it to stand on any highway unattended without first effectively setting the brakes thereon and stopping the motor thereof." Love the attention to detail!

My favourite part of Stylo will always be 2D going: "It's Bruce!" And Murdoc panicking immediately after hearing that. Makes them seem more alive than they already seem

What I learned from this video: 1) A catchphrase, most likely (at 1:11) 2) Never watch a movie you never saw with Murdoc if he knows how it ends. 3) Gorillaz exists thanks to Mario Kart.

There’s one man who got a rail road stake shot straight through his frontal lobe and out the back and he lived, he was unbelievable aggressive and abusive to his loved ones afterwards but it really got people thinking about how that was possible to begin with. Changed neurology and neuroscience drastically.

Mario Kart 1 was released in 1992; 1992-1966 = 26 so Murdoc learnt to drive when he was at least 26 years old

This is the song that got me into Gorillaz! Story Time: in music class back in 8th grade, the class was making a project about our favorite bands and singers, or a project about artists (not sure), this 1 kid I was acquainted with played this song and Clint Eastwood (for some reason, at that time, I recognized that songs). That’s how I got into Gorillaz and we talked about Gorillaz here and there until the end of middle school

Especially that Camaro. I actually met someone with that same model with the same engine mod, custom star painted on, and the Stylo lettering on the grill. Super cool.

I’ve noticed that the first four songs Murdoc has committed on so far have one thing in common. They were the first singles from each of their albums. “Clint Eastwood” was the first single off Gorillaz first album. “Feel Good Inc.” was the first off Demon Days. “Saturnz Barz” was the first off Humanz and now “Stylo,” the first single off Plastic Beach.” The next commentary could be either “Humility” or “Momentary Bliss.”
