Pretty sure once Damon is gone and we won't see anymore new gorillaz, alot of "those fans" will realize the gorillaz had alot of amazing songs through out all their albums. Or they can keep complaining and say "this ain't the gorillaz I grew up with"

That's what made the Humanz album so unique in its own way. They had variety. Personally, I liked the Humanz album, it was really well done.

And 2d looks VERY sad in most of the artwork on that album and appears with his shoelaces untied (and it was revealed in an interview that Murdoc is the one tying his shoelaces). And Murdoc when he got out of prison said on his twitter that the band channeled the feelings for his absence into the music, he said "it's not all about me, I'm not self-centered, but the proofs is there."

The exact same happened to me too. The album came out two days before me and my first bf of 1 1/2 years broke up. I finished high school that june while he had a year left. We had a toxic relationship to say the least and I was totally blind of seeing that until a long time after. Right after the breakup I listened to TNN constantly and surprise! Fire flies, Souk eye and One percent were three of my most listened songs of 2018. I always have an eerie feeling that the timeline with the release of the album and the breakup was no random coincidence, I guess Damon is just a fortuneteller who could see into my future whilst making TNN and setting the release date for it (kinda like how Aries was made before covid but fit so well during the tough times). Listening to Humility now makes me feel that I actually became much more happier outside of the toxic relationship me and my ex had. I think it's amazing how Damon has created such a unique album that resonates with people experiencing the same life situations, especially the melancholy of love, loss and happiness. It speaks to the time after the loss of someone, either friendship, relationship or death. It's the mourning of not having them around anymore and finding true happiness again. It's the circle of life experiences we will experience again and again as time continues to move forward and change us mentally and physically. I haven't heard any other albums like it, it's truly something special.
