I don’t understand how people slept on this and it only became popular _now_ Also, don’t be toxic to newer listeners, they’re discovering the same gem you’re listening to. If anything, it should be celebrated that even their older music is still popular to this day.

On purpose or not, the 1 at the time pictures representing the video, give a very good vibe. Think about it, the Gorillaz characters were all traumatized from plastic beach, and the way everything is one picture reminds me of how when something big and traumatizing in your life happens, and you remember everything in pictures. And also, the music matches with the vibe perfectly!

I remember when this video first came out I was mad that it was only a storyboard since they wouldn't fund the animated version. Now the storyboard lives in my head as the definitive version of the video and I wouldn't have it any other way, just Jamie's visual storytelling and Damon's music.

Very unfortunate that Gorillaz doesn't have this aesthetic anymore. It's not an unhappy ending, it's just massively grim and chaotic.

I feel kind of upset that this was one of their last big parts of the story, since after all of this they gave up on the plan and decided to make everything go back to normal days 7 years later in Humanz, I just feel like there could have been so much more. phase 2-3 where my favorite (Demon days-Plastic beach).

Everytime I play this song, I’m instantly transported back to my high school days. Specifically this one day in Year 9 nearing the end of the day on a Friday. I was in art class about 30mins before the bell goes and it was raining outside, I was sitting in a separate room with my friend from the rest of the class and these two Year 12 (senior) girls who were doing their own thing. I’m a lot happier now than I was then and I’m so grateful for the impact Gorillaz have had on my life : )
