Fun fact: this song was recorded from 2D’s brain with a tiny microphone russel got from Tandy (an electrical store). As it was on the side of 2D’s head, recording, Murdoc told 2D to : “Imagine 1950s-based rockabilly Brian Setzer from The Stray Cats knocking back a load of cough syrup, then going to a fairground with a couple of mates. Halfway through, Brian’s going to start feeling a bit sick because he’s now drunk some Jäegermeister, and the gooey brown liquid’s making him see things that weren’t there. He’s trapped in a mad world of fairgrounds, visuals, and bubbles.” Along with that, 2D imagined the sounds from the Atari game, Pong. This was taken from the book called “The Rise Of The Ogre” and is on the “Double Bass” chapter.

Ace wasn’t anywhere near the band at that point. So, I don't really know any of the backstory behind this song, but I like to it as a metaphor. Like Murdoc's over-bearing presence in the band, and his need for control. I find it funny how throughout the whole song the drums and guitar stay pretty consistent, while whenever the piano (the instrument 2D loves) starts to get funky, the bass gets super loud. Almost like Murdoc is trying to keep 2D under his thumb. The lyrics kinda fit with this too, how it says "All of which makes me anxious, at times unbearably so." which I think kinda fits, since Murdoc was a huge source of anxiety for 2D in the early days! But that's just my head-canon! love the song so much!! :D

I just imagine some dude waiting in an incredibly slow elevator while this music plays from a tiny speaker. He's late for something or other. He's spiraling into a pit of despair. Cue montage of him thinking about the inevitability of it all. "All of which makes me anxious...at times unbearably so..." Music continues.

I like this song for it's very diverse use of different noises and it's unsettling vibe with that sweet bass to top it off.

This track feels like you're going through the mudanity and motions of the everyday with self-destructive habits that you're conciously aware of, but for some odd reason you can't seem to put off. You're stuck on this cycle of negativity, which is the repetitive bassline, and the noise in the back of your head that tells you to stop but you can't because of the euphoria you experience from time to time. But maybe I'm just inserting my personal experience at the moment.

I’ll never forget the time I heard this song on shrooms lol I never gave this album a full listen before, only the first few songs. I ended up getting so lost in my trip and the whole album just played while I was staring off into space. This shit tripped me tf out!! It was so cool!! I felt like I was warm and melting into my carpet while staring at the ceiling and the trippy lights I had.

Listened to this whole album for the first time in the UAE enjoyed the first three songs then realized we took a wrong turn. Now when I hear this album it's nostalgic from my childhood along with the memories of being stranded in the middle east. We arrived at our hotel at 3 am when we were supposed to get there at 8 pm. It was terrifying but adventurous. I enjoyed the whole experience, after we pulled up to our hotel Tillal Liwa in Madinat Zayed.
