I really love how they're doing this. The fact we are getting new songs this soon is amazing as is, but these short little episodes really just add to what makes Gorillaz so great in the first place. This first song is a banger, and I am so beyond ready to hear what else they have in store for us!

Can we take a second to appreciate how the animation at 1:17 actually has Noodle playing the correct notes, and she even does the fingering slightly different than the guy in the background? Gorillaz lore aside this is probably one of the most creative songs I’ve heard in 2020 so far. The mix between classic punk rock aesthetics and a more modern form of it as well as the hip hop verse was fucking cool. Also the animation for noodle playing the guitar was insanely detailed.

Still hoping for an animated Gorillaz movie that incorporates their songs by writing around the settings of specific music videos. It'd be rated R, of course. Imagine seeing the action-packed sequences of On Melancholy Hill and Rhinestone Eyes unfold on the big screen. Later on we'd get Del guiding them through the graveyard in order to escape the zombie gorillas. This would all unwind in-between the main story beats of 2D's journey to achieve self-actualization as we see his character develop events such as Dirty Harry, Feel Good Inc., Humility, etc. And finally a sobering end as they all lead a simple life singing about everyday truths from the studio seen in Momentary Bliss... or something to that effect lol

Not gonna lie this song is how I first discovered that the more you listen to a Gorillaz song the more you like it. This is happened with some other songs too like Saturnz Barz and superfast jellyfish but this is the first time I really like noticed it.
