So I recently found an article that explained why a hologram tour never happened into the 2010s. According to Jamie, a hologram is sensitive to the low frequency of bass sounds so the louder the bass, the more risk of the hologram distorting and falling apart on stage. He said it’s either good quality holograms or a super dumbed down bass concert and that wasn’t an option. Gorillaz music uses heavy bass sounds as their appeal. So it got switched to video performances as of Plastic Beach instead of risking faulty holograms on tour. Plus Damon really wanted to interact with the crowd more after Demon Days.

Music was something else during this time... so much is so timeless and holds so much weight behind it. I love Gorillaz, their Album was the first I bought at 7 years old. I saved up money from chores, selling candy, selling and drawings. Gorillaz’s music allows me to time travel in a way and be that same kid that grew up playing Demon Days and their self title album on repeat. I’m 23 now.. time flies

This live EMA's version of Feel Good by The Gorillaz is spectacular. Bringing out the Animated characters featured in the Feel Good music video coupled with a heartfelt live version of this song only enhances the magic of this live version.

I love how even though they are animated characters, they have such humane personalities; it feels like they are real people on stage. Like 2-D just whips his phone out in the middle of performance, and noodle just walks out like "yall sorry im late" i find it so fascinating. I thibk thats why I fell in love with this band when I was younger. Never understood the words because I was like 9, but the visuals and sounds made it interesting to a little kid... Very thankful that I found this band when I was younger instead of now.

It was the best year, I remember how I watched it on MTV, I wanted to get to the concert and feel the characters live. I really hope that in the near future we will see the formats of such concerts in the metaverse
