I'm not usually one to rave about songs, but I have to share this one. Last March, I lost my dad to cancer, and it's a pain I hope no one else has to endure. What's devastating is that it might've been treatable if caught earlier. On my way to his funeral, I stumbled upon this song. The intro deeply resonated with me , it matched the somber mood of the weather and my own emotional state.The gentle, pulsing rhythm and ethereal sounds created a sense of melancholic introspection, evoking feelings of loss, grief, and contemplation. Despite the pain, I felt a sense of calm, like I'd finally let go

I pressed play, I started singing. Slowly I closed my eyes as I kept singing and when everything exploded ( 2:21 ) I just couldn't stop crying. I had no reason, I didn't think of anything, I just sang with my eyes closed. Or... Maybe... remembering my mom... she died of covid. This song is my whole life. Listening in 2021

when i was about 11 or 12, i was given a non-graded assignment in school to present a song to the class and talk about it for a few minutes. i chose this song. i loved empire ants SO MUCH back then and to this day i still love it so much. all my classmates watching me present looked so confused and uninterested as they didn't know this song and thought i presented something "weird" or "obscure". even my music teacher looked unamused? i do NOT regret it though. everyone else brought in mainstream music of the time (2016/17) whilst i introduced all these kids to a BANGER. i hope they're all listening to gorillaz now. kinda random but thought i'd share this anyway :)

This song came, and when the good part hit, everyone went silent, I was the youngest out of the people there. Everybody just stopped working and looked at the speaker.
